Town ’n’ Country is one of the biggest communities in Hillsborough County that has no city hall of its own. The Census counts 85,928 people living there, more than most incorporated cities in Tampa Bay. The median year built is 1984 or earlier (Census Bureau ACS 2020–2024 5-year estimates, table B25035). Keywest Lights & Electric (KWLE) is an authorized JellyFish Lighting dealer, and our shop at 6248 Seminole Blvd is about 17.9 miles away in a straight line, across Old Tampa Bay. We put in permanent Christmas lights that stay up all year. You run them from your phone for December, for game nights, and as everyday porch and security light.

Call (727) 476-7079 or use the form on this page to book a free on-site design visit. We are a woman-owned, licensed electrical contractor (EC13014717), not a franchise.

Upload a daytime photo of your Town ‘n’ Country home and we’ll overlay the eave and gable lights for you at no charge.

Before the holiday rush: lock in a Town ‘n’ Country date early. Delivery from JellyFish follows your signature by about 4 days.

JellyFish Lighting Authorized Dealer seal

We are an Authorized Dealer of JellyFish Lighting, not JellyFish Lighting itself.

Who installs permanent Christmas lights in Town ‘n’ Country?

KWLE does, with our own licensed crew. We don’t hand the job to a subcontractor, and the same people who wire panels and circuits for Hillsborough homeowners mount the track. That matters on a house built in the 1970s (21.7% of homes here) or the 1980s (28.2%). On houses that age, the outlet in the garage can share a circuit with a freezer, a garage door opener and a workbench. We check that before anything goes up.

What the system looks like on a Town ‘n’ Country house

JellyFish is a low-profile aluminum track. It holds addressable LED nodes, and the track is color-matched to your soffit. In daylight most neighbors read it as part of the fascia. After dark, every node can be a different color, brightness or motion.

Where it goes on your house is simple, and we hold to it on every job:

  • Under the soffit and eaves. The track runs along the underside of the overhang, tucked back from the drip edge, so it is shaded from afternoon sun and out of the wind.
  • Up the gable rakes. On a front-facing gable we follow the rake trim to outline the peak from below.
  • Never on the roof surface or the ridge. We don’t fasten anything through shingles, tile or metal panels, and we don’t walk on your roof to light it. Nothing we install puts a hole in the waterproofing.

51.1% of the housing here is single-family detached, according to the Census. A long, straight eave lights cleanly. Two-story homes and attached units take more planning around downspouts and wall-mounted fixtures, and we map those on the design visit.

Where the controller lives

The JellyFish controller mounts inside your garage and plugs into an existing outlet there. Low-voltage wire runs from the controller up into the soffit and connects to the track. You don’t need a new box on the outside wall or a panel outside the house. The controller stays out of the rain and away from sprinklers and lawn equipment.

Because we are electricians, we test that garage outlet before we use it. We look at the receptacle condition and the GFCI protection, and we identify the breaker it sits on. If the circuit is overloaded or the outlet is worn, we tell you and give you options in writing. We don’t just plug in and hope.

One zone or two

On a single zone, the whole house follows one pattern. As an extra KWLE option, we can split the system into two zones. Common splits are front and back, or the house and the detached garage or pool cage. That way the front can run red and green for the street while the back stays soft white over the lanai. Ask about it at the design visit. Some homes benefit from it and plenty don’t.

A year of uses, not just December

Most people call us about permanent Christmas lights in October and November. By spring they use the system for other things. Here is how Town ‘n’ Country households tend to use theirs:

  1. Holidays. Warm white for Thanksgiving, slow red and green chase for December, then a quiet blue for New Year’s.
  2. Game days. Your team’s colors, scheduled for the season.
  3. Everyday light. A dim warm white from dusk to 11 p.m. lights the walk and driveway without the glare of floodlights.
  4. Security. Bright white over the garage and side yard on a timer, plus a scene you can switch to from your phone if you hear something at night.
  5. Birthdays, graduations and causes. School colors, pink in October, or the colors of a family’s home country for its national day.

Each of these is a permanent holiday light scene saved in the app. You can put them on a calendar so the house changes by itself.

Weather, flood zones and older wiring

Town ‘n’ Country sits right next to Tampa International Airport. During Hurricane Milton in October 2024, the National Weather Service recorded a 93 mph peak gust at the airport and more than 11 inches of rain there in a single day. Two things follow from that:

  • The track mounts under the overhang, not out in the open. The soffit takes the force of the wind, not the lights.
  • The controller and its power stay inside the garage, above the floor, where rising water and blowing rain are least likely to reach them.

We also look at the electrical side of the house while we’re there. 21.7% of homes here were built in the 1970s, according to the Census. On those houses we find two-prong outlets, ungrounded garage circuits or an aging panel. We’ll point out anything that needs attention. Fixing it is a separate job and is your call.

HOAs and deed-restricted neighborhoods

If your neighborhood has an HOA or deed restrictions, it may have rules on exterior lighting colors, flashing patterns or the dates holiday displays can run. JellyFish helps here: you can keep a steady warm white from January to October and save the color scenes for the weeks your association allows. If your HOA wants to see the product before approving it, we can provide photos and a written description of the track and where it mounts. Check your own covenants before you sign anything. Your HOA’s rules are the ones that count.

Needs board sign-off? Here’s our packet:

  • Product details for the JellyFish lights and track
  • The track color we chose to match your soffit or fascia
  • Your house photo, marked where the eave and gable-rake runs go
  • Garage placement of the controller plus its power source
  • Florida contractor license EC13014717

Approval is the association’s decision; the packet covers what it asks for.

Permits

Town ‘n’ Country is unincorporated, so a “Tampa” mailing address doesn’t mean the City of Tampa issues the paperwork. Hillsborough County is the authority here. When a permit is required for the work on your home, KWLE pulls it under our state license and schedules any inspection. You won’t have to stand in a line or learn a portal.

Warranty

  • JellyFish 5-year parts warranty on the track, lights and controller, as provided by JellyFish Lighting.
  • KWLE workmanship warranty on our installation: 2 years, or 5 with Member Care.

If a node goes dark or a run stops responding, call us at (727) 476-7079 and we’ll come back out.

How a Town ‘n’ Country install goes

  1. Design visit. We walk the house with you, measure the eaves and gables, check the garage outlet and talk through scenes and the two-zone option. No pressure and no prices called out on the driveway; you get a written proposal.
  2. Proposal. It lists the runs, the controller location and the warranty terms.
  3. Install day. We mount the track under the soffit and on the rakes, run the low-voltage lead to the garage and set up the controller.
  4. App walkthrough. Before we leave, we connect the system to your Wi-Fi, load a few scenes you picked and show you how to schedule them.

Town ‘n’ Country JellyFish FAQ

Are there permanent lights near me options in Town 'n' Country?

We do. Our team drives to Town 'n' Country for the site visit, then returns to complete permanent lights on house fascia in a single trip on most houses.

Is lighting installation a good fit for my Town 'n' Country property?

If your Town 'n' Country residence has eave edges and an outlet in the garage, permanent holiday lights can be laid out for it; the measuring visit confirms the fit.

Will I see the track in the daytime?
Very little. It sits under the soffit edge and is color-matched to your soffit, so from the street it mainly disappears.

Do you put anything on my shingles or tile?
No. Everything mounts under the eaves and along the gable rakes. Nothing goes on the roof surface or the ridge.

Where does it plug in?
The controller mounts in your garage on an existing outlet we test first. No new outdoor panel is needed.

Can I have different colors in front and back?
Yes, with our optional two-zone setup. One zone puts the whole house on one scene; two zones (front and back) is an extra KWLE option.

Is my Town ‘n’ Country home too far from Seminole?
No. It is about 18 miles from our shop, and Town ‘n’ Country is inside our Hillsborough County service area.

Is KWLE woman-owned?
Yes. Keywest Lights & Electric is woman-owned.

Is lighting installation a yearly job with JellyFish? No. We install it once. Each December you pick a Christmas scene in the app, with no hang-and-remove visit.

Do LED Christmas lights get hot? No. They run cool, which is easier on older painted trim.

Town ‘n’ Country homeowners: permanent lights, or pay for hang-and-take-down every season?

Decorate every year? Then a one-time JellyFish install takes the place of the yearly hang, take-down and storage cycle on your Town ‘n’ Country house. Want lights for a single season only? Hanging is simpler. We mount the track once, under the eaves and on the gable rakes, and every holiday after that runs from the app.
