Tampa is TECO country, with its own building department
Tampa has about 401,600 residents (Census ACS 2020–2024), and the median home was built in 1985, much newer overall than St. Pete, though Tampa’s historic neighborhoods are as old as any in the region. Two things set Tampa jobs apart from our Pinellas work:
- Utility: TECO (Tampa Electric), not Duke Energy. Service upgrades and meter work follow TECO’s requirements and scheduling, and we coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with TECO.
- Permits: City of Tampa Construction Services Division inside city limits. Unincorporated communities like Town ‘n’ Country, Carrollwood and Westchase are permitted by Hillsborough County.
Tampa neighborhoods and their electrical needs
- Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights and Hyde Park: early-1900s bungalows and historic homes where we see knob-and-tube, fuse boxes and small services. Rewiring → · Service upgrades → (Yes, Tampa has a Seminole too. Seminole Heights is a historic Tampa neighborhood, separate from our home base in Seminole, Pinellas County.)
- South Tampa and Westshore: renovations, high-end remodels, SPAN smart panels and EV chargers
- Westshore business district and the airport area: office and retail tenant build-outs and commercial service. The Howard Frankland Bridge and the Courtney Campbell Causeway put Westshore a short drive from Pinellas.
- Town ‘n’ Country and Carrollwood (unincorporated): 1970s–80s homes ready for panel replacements

Tampa FAQ
Do you really come to Tampa from Pinellas? Yes. Tampa is within our roughly 40-mile service area, and Westshore is especially close. For scheduled work like upgrades, EV chargers and build-outs, distance isn’t an issue. For urgent problems, call. We’re open 24/7.
How is a service upgrade different with TECO? The process is similar (load calc, permit, utility disconnect and reconnect, inspection), but TECO has its own service requirements and scheduling. We handle that coordination.
Who issues electrical permits in Tampa? The City of Tampa Construction Services Division inside city limits, and Hillsborough County for unincorporated areas such as Town ‘n’ Country, Carrollwood and Westchase.
My Seminole Heights bungalow still has some original wiring. Can you help? Yes. We inspect the existing wiring, then lay out a full or phased rewiring plan with a new panel and service.
