8,381 people live in Odessa, an unincorporated corner of Pasco County, and most of its houses are young: the Census median year built is 2006 or earlier, with 19.1% of homes added from 2010 to 2019 and 10.1% in 2020 or later. Owners occupy 70.2% of occupied homes, and detached houses are 66.5% of units. Keywest Lights & Electric (KWLE), an authorized JellyFish dealer, lights Odessa homes as a woman-owned Florida electrical contractor (license EC13014717), 28.4 straight-line miles from our 6248 Seminole Blvd shop.

By day: what your neighbors see
Almost nothing, which is the idea. The track is a slim aluminum channel tucked against the underside of the soffit, color-matched on measuring day, and JellyFish says the lights stand out only about a quarter inch. In daylight, from the street, it passes for trim. No gutter clips, no sagging strands between hooks, no cords down the walls.
Our mounting rule doesn’t bend: track goes beneath the soffit on the eaves and climbs the gable rakes. KWLE never installs on the roof surface or along the ridge, and no screw goes through your shingles or tile.
At dusk: what you see
No timers to fiddle with: JellyFish can key its schedule to sunset, so shorter days take care of themselves. One evening look is a soft warm white tracing the eaves and lighting the front walk, welcoming without the glare of a floodlight. With warm-white presets running 2700K to 5000K, we can match the porch and outdoor fixtures you already have.
In December: what everyone sees
This is when permanent Christmas lights pay off. Pick a classic red-and-green chase, an all-white twinkle, candy-cane stripes, or any of the patterns in the JellyFish app. Every light is individually controllable and full-spectrum RGB, so the design is as simple or as elaborate as you want. Schedule it to start the day after Thanksgiving and end on New Year’s Day, and you never think about it again.
The other ten months
Once the track is up, December is only part of the story. Odessa owners set up scenes like these:
- New Year’s Eve: a gold sparkle that peaks at midnight, then fades to warm white.
- Spring: soft pastels for Easter weekend, or your favorite flower colors.
- Graduation: school colors on the big weekend, so guests can find the party.
- Summer: red, white and blue around the Fourth, then cool white on hot evenings by the pool.
- Fall: team colors on game days, orange and purple for Halloween, amber for Thanksgiving.
- Any night you travel: a security scene that keeps the entry and driveway lit until sunrise.
Each permanent holiday light preset lives in the app. Put them on the calendar once, and the house changes looks all year without anyone touching a switch.
More ideas by season: Halloween looks for October, a lit-up Fourth, and everyday security light along the eaves.

The electrical side
On the garage wall goes the controller, running off an existing outlet, with low-voltage cable climbing through the soffit to the track. First, though, our licensed electrician finds the breaker behind that outlet and what else hangs on it; in a newer Odessa garage that could be a spare fridge, an EV charger or a pool pump timer. We check for ground-fault protection, look over the receptacle and test the Wi-Fi where the controller will sit. If something is off, you get it in writing with options, and any repair is a separate choice.
Townhomes and condos
Per the Census, 17.8% of Odessa’s housing units sit in buildings of 20 or more units, where the association owns the exterior. Lighting there is the board’s decision, and we’re happy to help a board with eaves, entries and amenity spaces. Townhome owners whose association permits changes to their own exterior can still put a system on their unit, with a controller and app of their own.
Front and back, separately
One zone means every eave runs the same scene. Backing onto a pond, preserve or pool? You might want a quiet back and a festive front, and that’s what KWLE’s optional two zones are for.
Associations
Got an HOA or deed restrictions? Check what they say about outside lighting and holiday displays first. JellyFish is an easy sell to most committees, since it nearly disappears by day and can hold to steady white except on the holiday dates they allow. We’ll hand you the paperwork the architectural committee asks for.
Your HOA approval packet from us includes:
- Manufacturer details on the lights and track
- The channel finish we’ll use so it disappears against the eave
- Your house photo with each eave and gable-rake run drawn on it
- Notes on the indoor controller and its power source
- License EC13014717, issued to KWLE by the state
Your association rules on it; we just make sure nothing is missing from the file.
Weather
Helene hit the Pasco coast hard in 2024; the National Hurricane Center put surge inundation at 6 to 9 feet from south of Cedar Key to the Anclote River. Odessa is inland, but wind and rain reach everyone. The track rides in the shelter of the eave and the controller stays inside, so the lights need no storm prep at all.
Permits
With no city government in Odessa, permits run through Pasco County. When one is needed, we file it on the KWLE license and handle the inspection.
The KWLE process
- A free visit to measure, take photos, test the outlet and Wi-Fi, and hear what you want.
- Your proposal comes in writing; nobody quotes you at the door.
- Our licensed employees do the install; we don’t subcontract.
- App setup together, calendar included.
- Warranty service any time it’s needed.
Covered for the long haul: a 5-year parts warranty from JellyFish on the hardware, plus a 2-year workmanship warranty from KWLE on our install (2 years, or 5 with Member Care).

Found us with permanent Christmas lights? We cover Odessa
With the lights mounted for good, a December evening in Odessa starts in the app rather than with a knot of cords. Each install ends with a walk-through so you can change scenes yourself from day one, and questions get answered at the free measuring visit.
We don’t leave until you’ve run the app on your own phone. Houses here are roomy (Census Bureau 2020–2024 estimates show a median of 6.1 rooms, and 36.2% of homes have four bedrooms), and one setup covers Christmas, the Fourth and game nights; neighbors who see one install tend to ask for the same eave line.
Odessa FAQ
Is Keywest Lights & Electric one of the Christmas light installers near me for Odessa?
Odessa is in our service area. Send a front photo and we’ll draw a free mockup of permanent Christmas light installation along your eave edges and gable rakes.
Can permanent lights on house trim change color for other holidays?
Yes. Once permanent Christmas lights is in, the JellyFish app switches between Christmas, the Fourth, game days and plain white whenever you like.
Can people see the lights in daytime? Barely. The track is color-matched and sits under the soffit edge.
Can I match my existing outdoor lights? Yes, with the warm-white presets or a custom white.
What happens if the power goes out? The system resumes its schedule when power returns.
Can a detached garage or workshop be added later? Yes, in most cases. Depending on the distance and the power out there, a second building may need its own controller on its own tested outlet, and we’ll say which once we’ve seen it.
Who controls the app if I’m away? You can, from anywhere with a phone connection, or you can share access with a family member or house-sitter.
Woman-owned? Yes. KWLE is a woman-owned business.
Will I need a new circuit? Not in most cases. After we test it, the controller plugs into an existing garage outlet.
Can I use the lights for security? Yes. Schedule bright white overnight or switch it on from the app.

What separates permanent lights from a seasonal installer’s strands?
Odessa owners who decorate yearly gain the most: one install ends hanging, removal and storage for good. A single season? A hanging crew is simpler. We fix the JellyFish track once under the eaves and on the gable rakes, and the app runs each holiday after that, with blue-and-white Hanukkah lights among the presets you can save.
JellyFish Lighting is a trademark of its owner. KWLE, an independent authorized dealer, is a separate business.
