24/7 Emergency Electrician in Redington Shores, FL

The Redingtons are the closest stretch of beach to our Seminole shop, about 2–2½ miles across the bay. This page covers all three towns: Redington Shores, North Redington Beach and Redington Beach. They share a strip of Gulf Boulevard but not one building department, and their housing ages vary a lot. If a panel is hot, a condo unit just went dark or a breaker won’t hold, call (727) 476-7079 at any hour. We’ll tell you how to stay safe, quote our after-hours rate and give you an honest arrival estimate. Licensed EC#13014717.

Call (727) 476-7079. Emergency calls are answered 24/7.

Electrician checking the breakers inside an open electrical panel
Tracing a fault inside an open panel, the first step on most emergency calls.

Call 911 first if there’s smoke, fire or a shock injury. If the main breaker is reachable from a dry spot, switch it off. Stay away from water near outlets, the panel and pool equipment.

Three towns, three housing eras

Using Census ACS 2020–2024 figures, the median home was built in 1976 in Redington Shores (about 2,000 residents), 1978 in North Redington Beach, and 1959 in Redington Beach, the oldest median in our service area. Each tends to produce a different kind of emergency:

  • Redington Beach: fuse boxes and 1950s–’60s panels, small services and old wiring that wasn’t built for modern AC and kitchens. A scorched or hot panel there is urgent.
  • Redington Shores and North Redington Beach: Gulf Boulevard condo buildings, plus 1970s homes with Federal Pacific Stab-Lok or Zinsco panels and meter cans that have taken decades of salt air
  • Everywhere: equipment that sat in Helene’s or Milton’s surge in 2024 and went back into service. Saltwater keeps eating at breakers and bus bars, and failures can show up months later.

Once the danger is under control, we’ll tell you plainly whether you need a Redington Shores panel upgrade. We quote that on a daytime visit, never at 2 AM.

Is it the unit or the building?

Late at night in a Gulf Boulevard condo, it’s hard to tell whether the problem is yours or the association’s. Generally, wiring inside the unit belongs to the owner, while the meter bank, feeders and electrical rooms belong to the association. Tell us what you know: whether neighbors are affected, whether the hall lights are on and what tripped. We’ll make your unit safe and coordinate with the manager if the fault is in shared equipment. Vacation-rental owners: call even between guests. We can often get the unit stable before the next check-in.

If the whole street is dark, it’s probably Duke Energy. Report it in the app or at duke-energy.com.

Signs to call now

  • A panel, outlet or switch that’s hot, buzzing or smells burnt
  • Sparks at an outlet, the panel, the meter or an outdoor box
  • Lights flaring and dimming, which can mean a lost neutral
  • Water near the panel or meter after a storm, king tide or plumbing leak
  • Pool or spa equipment that shocks or trips. Get everyone out of the water.

Storm season on the barrier island

  • Get your Barrier Island Re-Entry Permit from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office before the season.
  • Access opens storm by storm. We can’t go in before officials allow it, but we’ll take your call and schedule you.
  • Anything that took on water stays off until a licensed electrician checks it. Duke owns the drop and meter. We repair the meter can, mast, panel and everything after it, and Duke often won’t reconnect until our side has been inspected.
  • Generators: use cords or a listed inlet and interlock, never a backfed dryer outlet. See generator installation. Panel-mounted whole-house surge protection helps when power comes back.

Which office issues your permit

Service restoration, panel replacement and meter-can work usually need a permit: – Redington Shores: Town of Redington Shores Building Department, 17425 Gulf Blvd. It’s open to the public Monday through Thursday, so we plan around that. – Redington Beach: since November 10, 2025, permits go through the town’s contracted provider, SAFEbuilt, at 17985 Gulf Blvd in Redington Shores. – North Redington Beach: also uses SAFEbuilt, at the same office.

We pull the right permit for your address and meet the inspector.

After you call

A real person answers, asks whether it’s a house, a unit or a rental and whether anyone’s at risk, then quotes the after-hours rate. On site, we make it safe, repair what we can and give you an itemized quote for anything larger. Hours: emergency calls 24/7; office 7 AM–5 PM, plus weekend service.

Not urgent?

A single dead outlet or a burned-out porch light can wait for a regular-rate visit. Book online.

Warranty and financing

Our repairs carry a 3-year workmanship warranty, or 5 years for Member Care Plan members. For bigger repairs: Financing available through Acorn Finance, subject to credit approval. Check your options without affecting your credit score.

How long will it take you? We’re about 2–2½ miles away. Gulf Boulevard traffic, the hour and the calls ahead of yours all affect timing. We’ll give you an honest estimate.

Which office issues my permit? Redington Shores has its own Building Department. Redington Beach and North Redington Beach both use SAFEbuilt, their contracted provider.

My panel was in the surge but still works. Is that OK? Leave it off until it’s inspected. Salt-exposed equipment usually needs replacing.
