Temple Terrace is a city of its own, not a Tampa neighborhood, and its houses have some history: Census Bureau estimates show 21.8% built in the 1970s and a median year built of 1982 or earlier. Its 27,275 residents split nearly evenly between owners and renters, 15.9% of housing units are in buildings of 20 or more units, and the median resident is 34.5. Keywest Lights & Electric (KWLE) installs JellyFish on Temple Terrace houses and on businesses’ eaves and gable rakes. JellyFish authorized us to sell and install its system, Florida licenses us as electrical contractor EC13014717, and the company is woman-owned. From 6248 Seminole Blvd to Temple Terrace is 29.1 miles in a straight line.

Why an electrician should install your lights
Permanent lighting is low voltage at the lights, but it starts at a 120-volt outlet in your garage. On an older house, that outlet and its circuit deserve a professional look. Here’s what our licensed technician checks before the JellyFish controller is plugged in:
- The receptacle
- Is it grounded? Is it tight? Any scorch marks or cracks?
- Ground-fault protection
- Is the outlet GFCI-protected, as garage outlets should be?
- The circuit
- Which breaker feeds it, and what else is on it: a freezer, a washer, a workshop?
- The panel
- A quick look for obvious red flags while we’re there.
- Wi-Fi
- Is the signal strong where the controller will mount?
If something isn’t right, we explain it in writing with your options. Repairs are quoted separately and are up to you. We won’t connect new equipment to a circuit we wouldn’t trust in our own homes.
Respecting an older house
Mid-century and 1970s homes tend to have character worth preserving: a deep overhang, exposed rafter tails, a distinctive gable. Permanent lighting should frame those features, not cover them. Our approach:
- Placement: the channel attaches to the soffit’s underside, following eaves, and climbs gable rakes. Shingles, tile, ridges and every other part of the roof stay untouched.
- Color matching: JellyFish matches the track color to your soffit at measuring, so by day it nearly disappears.
- Material check: fascia and soffit boards get probed for rot and loose panels; repairs, if needed, come before track.
- Open rafters: where there’s no flat soffit, JellyFish makes alternative mounting tracks. We’ll show you how they’d look before you commit.
The controller in your garage
Once it passes inspection, that existing outlet powers the controller, which hangs on the garage wall. A thin low-voltage lead climbs into the soffit and feeds the lights. Nothing new appears on the outside of the house.
Renters and shared buildings
With 49.6% of occupied homes rented and 15.9% of units in buildings of 20 or more (Census figures), many residents don’t control their exteriors. Tenants: we need the property owner’s signature before booking, since the track is fixed to the structure. If your home shares walls or a roof structure with neighbors, call us and we will tell you plainly whether we can do it.
Uses through the year
People start with permanent Christmas lights. December becomes effortless: the house lights itself each evening in your chosen pattern, from a classic multicolor chase to a quiet white twinkle. Then the system keeps working:
- Everyday: a warm white glow from dusk, adjustable from 2700K to 5000K.
- Security: bright white over doors and driveway on a schedule.
- Sports: your team’s colors on game days.
- Seasonal: Halloween, Thanksgiving, the Fourth, Valentine’s Day.
- Personal: birthdays, graduations, anniversaries.
Store each permanent holiday light design as a preset, then let the calendar run it, timed to sunset if you like.
For October ideas, see permanent Halloween lights; for summer, Fourth of July house lights; and for everyday use, security lighting under the eaves.
A Temple Terrace evening, start to finish
Here’s how a typical December day runs once the system is in. At sunset, the house switches on to a warm 2700K outline, timed automatically to the sky, not a clock. At 6 p.m., the calendar swaps in the holiday scene: red and green sweeping slowly across the front eave and up the garage gable. At 10 p.m., it steps down to a gentle white twinkle that won’t keep the neighbors awake. At midnight it goes dark, or switches to a dim security white over the driveway if you’re traveling. You didn’t touch anything. In January, the calendar returns to everyday white on its own, and the holiday scene waits in the app for next year.
Zones
By default it’s one zone and one scene. For an added charge KWLE divides it into two, front and back or main house and wing, for owners who want the backyard softer than the street side.
Weather
Inland didn’t mean dry. In October 2024 the National Weather Service tallied 10 to 15 inches of Milton rain over much of the county. The track hides under the overhang, the electronics live inside, and nothing comes down before a storm.

Christmas light installers for Temple Terrace addresses
The layout is planned around the outlet already in your garage, so no new circuit is added. People comparing permanent lights with clip-on strands see the difference right away in the straight line along the trim, and every eave run is measured so the design fits your Temple Terrace house.
Professional Christmas light installation from our crew means hardware and phone app set up and tested in one day. By daylight the track nearly disappears; after sunset the eave line comes alive. Every connection is made by a state-licensed electrician.

Why choose a permanent system over a yearly hang-and-remove crew?
If you decorate every year, a single install ends the hang, remove, store routine; for one season only, a hanging crew is simpler. In Temple Terrace we mount JellyFish track once under the eaves and on the gable rakes, and the app handles every holiday afterward, blue-and-white Hanukkah lights included.
JellyFish Lighting is the trademark of its owner. KWLE is an independent authorized dealer and is not that owner.
