Why salt air changes the decision
Pinellas homes from Dunedin to Pass-a-Grille sit within a few miles of salt water, and the barrier islands get spray every windy day. Salt speeds up corrosion on exposed metal, gets into open connectors and wears out cheap fasteners. A permanent lighting system lives outdoors 365 days a year, so the way it’s built and installed matters more here than in an inland market.
What to compare between permanent lighting systems
Whatever brand you look at, ask the same questions. Track: are the lights housed in a continuous channel that shields them, or mounted as exposed pucks or clips? Connections: are joints sealed inside the track, or out in the weather? Fasteners: what are they made of, and where do they go into your fascia? Warranty: how long are the parts covered, and is the labor covered separately? Installer: who does the outlet and power work, and do they hold a license?

How we install JellyFish on coastal homes
We install JellyFish Lighting as an Authorized Dealer. The lights sit in a low-profile track, the connections stay inside it, and we place mounting points to keep water from standing around fasteners. On Gulf-front homes we also program turtle-season zones. Every system has a 5-year JellyFish parts warranty and our 2-year workmanship warranty (5 years for members). The controller outlet and any new circuit are handled by a licensed electrician (EC13014717).
A quick yearly look
Because the lights stay up, a quick look once a year makes sense on beach homes: check the track ends and the controller outlet cover, and rinse off heavy salt buildup if you already wash the house. If something looks off, call us. We don’t publish DIY repair steps, because the power side should be handled by an electrician.
Getting a coastal estimate
Tell us how close the home is to the Gulf or the bay and whether it faces the beach. We’ll plan the layout, the zones and the power, and give you a written proposal. Want to see it first? Send a photo for a free design preview, or see our Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island pages.
