Scheduled panel and breaker box replacement for Riverview homes and light-commercial spaces along US-301, Boyette Road and the neighborhoods that follow the Alafia River. Riverview is one of Hillsborough County’s fastest-growing unincorporated communities — about 30 miles from our Seminole shop — so we treat panel upgrades here as planned, high-ticket work: site visit, itemized quote, Hillsborough County permit, TECO coordination when needed, then install day. Licensed (EC#13014717).
Call (727) 476-7079 or request a panel visit. Office 7 AM–5 PM, weekend service, 24/7 emergency calls.

Why Riverview panels still need work in a young CDP
Riverview has about 113,700 residents, and the median home was built in 2006 (Census ACS 2020–2024). Most of the housing stock is newer than Brandon or Tampa overall, so the panel conversation here is different from a 1970s Pinellas tract:
- 2000s–2010s subdivisions off Boyette Road, Big Bend Road and Progressive Drive where the original 150- or 200-amp panel is still in place but already full of tandems after a kitchen remodel, pool heater, shop tools or a Level 2 EV charger
- Older pockets near the Alafia River and US-301 with 1980s–90s panels that are crowded, corroded or flagged on a 4-point or insurance inspection
- Patio homes and townhomes where the unit panel is the homeowner’s and the meter bank belongs to the association
- Retail and office spaces along US-301 and Big Bend that need a clean panel replacement before a tenant build-out
Riverview is TECO territory and unincorporated Hillsborough County, so every permitted panel job goes through the county — not a city building department.
Distance and how we schedule Riverview work
Our shop is at 6248 Seminole Blvd, Seminole, FL 33772, about 30 miles from central Riverview. That is outside our ~15-mile emergency and small-job response area on purpose. For panel upgrades we schedule a site visit and an install day; we do not promise a response time from Pinellas, and we do not list all-hours office coverage for upgrade visits. Office hours are 7 AM–5 PM with weekend service available. If something is sparking, smoking or already out of power, call us — emergency calls are answered 24/7 and we will give you an honest arrival estimate for that call. See our emergency electrician service.
Panel upgrade or service upgrade?
We’ll tell you which one you actually need after we open the cover and run the numbers:
- A panel upgrade replaces the breaker panel. The power coming into the building stays the same.
- A service upgrade increases the power coming in — usually to 200 amps — with a new meter can, service entrance, main disconnect and TECO disconnect/reconnect.
Want circuit-level control, EV load management or battery-ready planning? A SPAN smart panel in Riverview can replace a standard panel entirely. We’re a SPAN Authorized Installer with 20 SPAN installs. Solar and batteries are installed by our licensed partner installers; we handle the electrical work and manage the project.
Signs your Riverview panel is due
- The cover, a breaker or the meter can feels warm, or you hear buzzing
- Breakers trip when the AC, dryer and kitchen run together
- There’s no open space left and every slot is a tandem — common after EV or pool adds in newer subdivisions
- Rust on an outdoor panel or meter can, especially along the bottom edge
- A home inspector, insurer or buyer has written it up
- It’s a Federal Pacific, Zinsco, a fuse box or another brand insurers flag (less common in 2006-era stock, but still shows up in older US-301 pockets)
Permits in Riverview
Riverview is unincorporated, so electrical permits come from Hillsborough County Development Services through the county’s HillsGovHub portal. We pull the permit and meet the inspector.
Utility: TECO (Tampa Electric). When the meter can has to be pulled or service equipment changes, we coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with TECO.
Unpermitted panel work can cause real problems with insurance claims and when you sell, so we pull ours every time.
What a Riverview panel upgrade includes
- Walk-through. We open the panel, check the meter, grounding and bonding, look at HOA or commercial rules, and ask what the next ten years will add.
- Itemized quote after the site visit. Every part of the job on its own line. No panel prices over the phone.
- Hillsborough County permit and TECO scheduling when needed.
- Install. A single panel swap is usually a one-day job with a few hours of downtime; relocating equipment or combining the job with a service upgrade takes longer. Every circuit is tested and recorded on a printed directory.
- Whole-house surge protection. Florida’s adopted electrical code calls for a surge protective device whenever a home’s service equipment is replaced. See whole-house surge protection.
- County inspection. We schedule it and meet the inspector.

Commercial panels along US-301 and Big Bend
Shops, offices and restaurants along US-301, Big Bend Road and the Progressive Drive corridor often need a panel replacement before a tenant improvement, a new kitchen or added refrigeration. We assess the existing gear, coordinate with your GC or property manager if there is one, and handle the Hillsborough County permit. See commercial electrical service and build-outs & tenant improvements.
Warranty, financing and scheduling
- 3-year workmanship warranty, extended to 5 years for Member Care Plan members.
- Financing available through Acorn Finance, subject to credit approval. Check your options without affecting your credit score. Ask us and we’ll include the financing link with your itemized quote.
- Hours: office 7 AM–5 PM, weekend service, and 24/7 emergency calls. Riverview panel work is scheduled.

Riverview panel upgrade FAQ
How much does a panel upgrade cost in Riverview? It depends on the panel, whether the meter can or main has to move, Hillsborough County permitting, and any code corrections. You get an itemized quote after a site visit.
Do you really come to Riverview from Seminole? Yes, for scheduled panel, service-upgrade and EV work inside our roughly 40-mile service area. Riverview is farther than our Pinellas towns, so we book a site visit and an install day rather than promising a quick drop-in.
Who issues electrical permits in Riverview? Hillsborough County Development Services, through HillsGovHub. Riverview does not have its own city building department. We pull the permit and meet the inspector.
Is Riverview on TECO? Yes. TECO (Tampa Electric) is the utility. Panel-only swaps often don’t need a utility disconnect; service equipment changes do.
Do newer Riverview homes still need panel upgrades? Often for space and labeling, not always for age. A 2006-era panel that is full of tandems after an EV or pool add is a common Riverview call. We’ll tell you after we open the cover.
Do you also do panels in Brandon and Tampa? Yes — see panel upgrades in Brandon and panel upgrades in Tampa.
