Permanent Christmas lights on Tierra Verde — installed once for every December after this one. Schedule red and green for the holidays, keep warm-white accent on the eaves the rest of the year, brighten the entry for security, and flip to Bucs or Rays game-day colors from your phone. No ladders on an island roof each season.

Why Tierra Verde homes book permanent lighting
Tierra Verde is a high-ownership island community at the south end of Pinellas, reached by the Pinellas Bayway (SR 679), with Fort De Soto Park’s five keys just beyond. Census figures show about 95% owner-occupancy and a housing mix of single-family detached and attached homes alongside some multifamily — the kind of stock where a color-matched soffit track is finish work, not a weekend decoration project.
The median home here was built around 1989, so eaves and soffits are usually in good shape for a clean track run. Between holidays the same lights earn their keep as warm-white architectural accent and brighter security white at the driveway and entry — then Christmas, New Year’s and game-day scenes when you want them.
Christmas, accent and Bucs / Rays game-day
December is the season many owners call about first. JellyFish puts individually addressable lights in a slim track under the eaves, so Christmas red and green (or any palette you pick) runs on a calendar with nothing to hang or take down. The rest of the year, soft warm white shows off trim and stucco. On Sundays in season, team colors for the Bucs or Rays are one more saved scene in the app.
Island access, salt air and wind
Residents know the Barrier Island Reentry Permit process at the Tierra Verde Fire Station on Sands Point Dr after a storm. Helene and Milton reminded every Pinellas waterfront owner what surge and wind can do. We fasten every track run to framing rather than clips or tape, use corrosion-resistant hardware near the bay and the Pass, and keep the controller on an interior wall above the floor.
All of Pinellas is in the wind-borne debris region for typical homes under the county’s local wind amendment. That is why a licensed electrician’s fasten and power plan matters as much as the light show.
Power for the controller
The controller plugs into a GFCI-protected outlet indoors, usually in the garage. If that outlet is missing, in the wrong spot or on a busy circuit, we add a new outlet or dedicated circuit. When that electrical work is needed, we pull the permit and handle the inspection.
How a Tierra Verde JellyFish project runs
- Free estimate. Roofline measurements, soffit style, controller location.
- Written proposal. Footage, track, spacing and any power work.
- Approvals. If your association needs product details, we supply them.
- Install and app setup. Power, track and lights, then Christmas, accent, security and game-day scenes saved before we leave.
Every system includes JellyFish Lighting’s 5-year parts warranty on the roofline lights, controllers and power supplies. Our own workmanship warranty covers the install for 2 years, or 5 years for Member Care Plan members.
Tierra Verde JellyFish Lighting FAQ
Do sea turtle lighting rules apply in Tierra Verde? Tierra Verde is an unincorporated island community on the bay and Pass side, not a Gulf nesting-beach town on FWC’s ordinance list the way St. Pete Beach or Belleair Beach are. If you also own Gulf-front property on the barrier islands, we set that home with turtle-friendly schedules for May 1 through October 31.
Can you install before Christmas on the Bayway? Yes — Tierra Verde installs are planned projects. After a free estimate and written proposal we book an install date. Call early in the fall if you want Christmas scenes ready for December.
What about condo or townhome associations? Many Tierra Verde addresses are single-family or attached homes with high owner-occupancy. Where an association reviews exterior changes, we supply track color, product details and a simple layout. We do not invent HOA rules — we work from what your documents require.
Will the lights handle salt air and wind? Yes, with the right hardware. All of Pinellas sits in the wind-borne debris region for typical homes. We fasten track to solid framing, use corrosion-resistant hardware near the water, and mount the controller indoors, up off the floor.
Do I need a permit? If we add a new outlet or dedicated circuit for the controller, that electrical work requires a permit. We pull the permit and handle the inspection.
