Between the Redingtons and Treasure Island

Madeira Beach sits on the Gulf barrier island between Redington Beach and Treasure Island, with Gulf Blvd as the spine. Housing mixes single-family homes with a large condo and mid-rise share, and a sizable seasonal vacancy rate — so we plan controller access and association rules early. Owner-occupied homes here are an upscale waterfront market; we treat each install as finish work, not temporary décor.

John’s Pass, Madeira Way and Christmas on the water

John’s Pass Village is the city’s designated activity center, and Madeira Way is the main street of the Town Center near Archibald Beach Park. The Festival of Lights Holiday Boat Parade is a Madeira Beach tradition — recently the 59th annual ran from ROC Park on Rex Place through the finger canals to John’s Pass. A lit roofline along a canal home joins that night in Christmas color, then returns to warm white afterward.

Turtle season and the Helene gauge

Madeira Beach has an FWC-listed sea turtle lighting ordinance. Nesting season runs May 1 through October 31. For Gulf-front property we keep decorative scenes off near the beach through nesting season.

During Helene (2024), the USGS sensor at Madeira Beach read the highest of three Pinellas sensors in the NHC report. Salt air and surge shape how we fasten track, choose hardware and place the controller indoors above the floor. County wind rules put typical homes in the wind-borne debris region.

Christmas, accent and game day

Book early if you want Christmas scenes before parade season. Everyday use is warm-white accent on the trim and brighter security white where you need it. Bucs and Rays game-day colors are saved scenes in the app. Businesses along John’s Pass or Madeira Way get one steady brand color — confirm local sign rules for your address.

From estimate to first scene

  1. Free estimate on site for footage, soffit style and power
  2. Written proposal with track, spacing and any circuit work
  3. Condo or HOA review when your building requires it
  4. Install and app training with Christmas, accent, security, game-day and turtle-season schedules

Product coverage is JellyFish Lighting’s 5-year parts warranty on roofline lights, controllers and power supplies. Our separate workmanship warranty is 2 years, or 5 years for Member Care Plan members. When power work needs a permit, we pull the permit and handle the inspection.

Madeira Beach JellyFish Lighting FAQ

Do sea turtle rules apply in Madeira Beach? Yes on Gulf-front property. Madeira Beach has an FWC-listed lighting ordinance (Code Ch. 110), and Pinellas nesting season runs May 1 through October 31. We set beachfront systems so decorative scenes stay off near the beach until after October 31.

Can you light a home near John’s Pass or Madeira Way? Yes. John’s Pass Village is the city’s activity center and Madeira Way is the Town Center main street. Homes and low-rise buildings nearby get the same planned JellyFish process. Commercial facades stay on one steady brand color pending local sign rules.

Will lights be ready for the Festival of Lights boat parade? That is the goal when you book early in the fall. The Festival of Lights Holiday Boat Parade is a long-running Madeira Beach tradition (the 59th annual ran in December 2025 from ROC Park through the finger canals to John’s Pass). We schedule installs so Christmas scenes can be on before parade night when the calendar allows.

My building is a condo. Can the association approve lights? Often for unit-level exterior elements; the shared roofline usually needs board approval. About a third of Madeira Beach units are in 20-or-more-unit buildings, and roughly three in ten units are seasonally vacant. We check your building type at the estimate.

Do I need a permit? If we add a new outlet or dedicated circuit for the controller, yes. We pull the permit and handle the inspection.
