Our shop is at 6248 Seminole Blvd, so Seminole fan and fixture jobs are, quite literally, around the corner for us. A lot of what we do here is in the Florida rooms, great rooms and lanais that 1970s and ’80s Seminole homes are known for: sloped ceilings that need the right downrod and mount, pool cages that need wet-rated fans, and bedroom lights converted to fans on proper fan-rated boxes. Licensed (EC#13014717) since 2010, and no job too small.
Call (727) 476-7079 or book a fan or fixture install online. Office 7 AM–5 PM, weekend service, 24/7 emergency calls.

Florida rooms and vaulted ceilings
Seminole has about 19,400 residents, and its median home was built in 1979 (Census ACS 2020–2024). About three in four homes are owner-occupied, and plenty have a Florida room or a great room with a sloped ceiling. Getting a fan right there means: – A downrod sized to the ceiling height, so the blades sit at a comfortable, safe height – A sloped-ceiling mount rated for the pitch – A fan-rated box or brace anchored to framing, not just drywall – Separate fan and light control. If there’s only one switch leg, we can add a conductor or use a wall control or remote.
Bedrooms: light to fan
Most bedrooms in Seminole’s 1970s–’80s homes were built with a ceiling light, not a fan. Before a fan goes up, we swap the light-duty box for a fan-rated box or brace. If a fan already wobbles or hums, it’s usually loose on the box, out of balance or hanging from a box that was never meant for it. We fix the mount first and replace the fan only if it’s actually the problem. Some homes from the mid-’60s to early ’70s have aluminum branch wiring, which we handle with approved connectors and methods.
Lanais and pool cages
Seminole lanais and pool cages get daily use, and fans out there face humidity, rain and, closer to Boca Ciega Bay, salt air. – Damp-rated fans go under a roof or screen. – Wet-rated fans go where rain hits directly, including most pool cages. – Use corrosion-resistant finishes and hardware near the water. – Use weatherproof boxes and switches, with GFCI protection where code requires it.
An indoor fan hung outside will rust and wobble within a season or two. Tell us where it’s going and we’ll tell you what rating to buy.
Kitchens, dining rooms and baths
- Pendants over an island and chandeliers over the table, hung at the right height and supported for their weight
- Recessed or LED wafer lights to replace old fluorescent boxes. See lighting installation.
- Vanity lights in bathroom remodels
- Dimmers and smart switches matched to LED loads so they don’t flicker or buzz
Outside, we install porch, garage, soffit and landscape-area fixtures rated for the weather. You’re welcome to buy your own fan or fixture. We install anything listed by UL or another recognized lab, and we’ll check the box and ceiling before hanging anything heavy.
Smoke and CO alarms
Plenty of Seminole homes still have original battery-only detectors, or a mix of old and new. We install hardwired, interconnected smoke alarms, so one sounds and they all sound, and combination smoke/CO alarms for homes with gas appliances or an attached garage. Check the date on the back. Smoke alarms are generally replaced about every 10 years.
Permits: city or county
A same-spot replacement usually doesn’t need a permit. New circuits and new locations that extend wiring usually do. Inside city limits, permits come from the City of Seminole Building Division, 9199 113th St. N. Unincorporated Seminole-area addresses, including much of Bardmoor and Bay Pines, go through Pinellas County. We know which applies.
Make it one visit
Since we’re local, bundling is easy: several fans, a fixture, smoke alarms and an outlet that stopped working can all go on one visit. You get the price before we start. We test every speed, light and switch, then clean up after ourselves.
Warranty and financing
3-year workmanship warranty, or 5 years for Member Care Plan members, who also get 7% off labor. For a whole-house lighting update or remodel: Financing available through Acorn Finance, subject to credit approval. Check your options without affecting your credit score.

Seminole ceiling fan & light fixture FAQ
Can you hang a fan on my sloped Florida-room ceiling? Yes, with a sloped-ceiling mount, the right downrod and a fan-rated box anchored to framing.
Is one ceiling fan too small a job? No. No job is too small, and you can add other small items to the same visit.
Which fan rating do I need in a pool cage? Usually wet-rated, since rain can reach it directly.
Do I need a permit to add a light where there wasn’t one? Usually, yes, when the work extends wiring. We pull it with the City of Seminole or Pinellas County.
Can you separate my fan and light switches? Often. We add a conductor if possible, or use a wall control or remote.
Do you install hardwired smoke alarms? Yes, interconnected, with combination smoke/CO units where they make sense.
