Bay Pines is about 2 miles from our shop, one of the closest communities we serve. It’s also one of the lowest, sitting on the shores of Boca Ciega Bay and Long Bayou. That’s why so many Bay Pines emergency calls involve water: a meter can that took surge, outlets on a low wall that got wet, or a panel that’s been quietly corroding in the salt air. Call (727) 476-7079 at any hour. We’ll walk you through staying safe, quote our after-hours rate and give you an honest arrival estimate. Licensed electrical contractor EC#13014717.
Call (727) 476-7079. Emergency calls are answered 24/7.

Call 911 first for smoke, flames or a shock injury. If you can reach the main breaker without standing in water, turn it off. Stay away from downed lines and anything wet.
When water is involved
Much of Bay Pines is low-lying. After a storm surge, a king tide or a flood: – Don’t turn anything back on that was underwater. Saltwater-exposed panels, breakers and outlets usually have to be replaced, even if they seem to work. – Watch equipment mounted low on the wall. Meter cans, outdoor panels and receptacles near grade are the first to take water. – Duke Energy serves most of Bay Pines and owns the drop and the meter. The mast, weatherhead, meter can and everything inside are the owner’s. We repair your side and file the permit so Duke can reconnect. Duke may require repairs and an inspection first. – Big storm repairs in a flood zone may be reviewed as substantial damage. We flag that early so it doesn’t stall your repair.
Older homes along the bayou
Bay Pines had a little over 3,100 residents at the 2020 Census, and its median home was built in 1970 (Census ACS 2020–2024). Besides water, we usually see: – Original 1960s–’70s panels, including Federal Pacific and Zinsco units with well-documented breaker problems – Corroded lugs and connections from salt air, which can cause partial power loss or lights that dim hard when the AC starts – Circuits overloaded by decades of added AC, kitchens and appliances – Outlets that arc and heat once plugs work loose
Once you’re safe, we’ll tell you whether a Bay Pines panel upgrade belongs on your list. We quote that later, without pressure.
Docks and outdoor equipment
If a dock, lift or outdoor circuit trips, buzzes or gives anyone a tingle, stay off the dock and out of the water, turn off the breaker if it’s safe to reach and call us. Pool or lift controls, AC boards and garage-door openers that all die at once after lightning usually mean a surge. We trace the damage and can add whole-house surge protection.
Condos and villas
Inside your unit, the panel and wiring are usually yours. Meter banks, feeders and common areas may be the association’s. We’ll make your unit safe, document what we find and coordinate with your manager on anything shared.
Outage or electrical fault?
If the whole street is dark, report it to Duke through the app or at duke-energy.com. If it’s only your home or part of it, call us. Running a portable generator? Use cords or a listed inlet and interlock, and never backfeed through a dryer outlet. See generator installation.
How the visit goes
We find the cause, make it safe and fix what we can that visit. Bay Pines is unincorporated, so permits go to Pinellas County Building & Development Review Services through its Access Portal. Some nearby addresses fall inside Seminole or St. Petersburg, so we check your address first. Panel, service or rewiring jobs get an itemized quote. Hours: emergency calls 24/7; office 7 AM–5 PM, plus weekend service.
Can it wait?
A dead outlet, an occasional flicker or a GFCI that trips now and then can usually wait for a regular-rate visit. See outlet repair or book online.
Warranty and financing
Our work carries a 3-year workmanship warranty, or 5 years for Member Care Plan members. For larger repairs: Financing available through Acorn Finance, subject to credit approval. Check your options without affecting your credit score.
