Mid-1970s homes close to the Gulf
Roughly 22,800 people live in Holiday, on 5.3 square miles of land (Census ACS 2020–2024; 2024 Census Gazetteer). The median home was built in 1977, only about 3% of homes are newer than 2010, and about 66% are owner-occupied. Nearly 50-year-old block homes with their original or once-replaced panels are the norm, and many sit near canals and the coast where salt air works on outdoor equipment.
Holiday at a glance (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024 5-year estimates):
- Residents: about 22,785
- Median year built: 1977
- Built before 1980: 63.7%
- Built 2010 or later: 3.3%
- Owner-occupied: 66.3%
- Single-family detached: 66.4%
Manufactured homes and coastal block houses
Close to 95% heat with electricity. Older services, corroded outdoor equipment and panels that insurers flag are the common thread.
Holiday’s 1970s wiring
About 63.7% of Holiday homes went up before 1980, which is why we bring a thermal camera and a tester to every older-home visit. Warm breakers, loose neutrals and overloaded circuits don’t always show on the surface. If something needs attention, we explain what we found, why it matters and what it would take to fix, and we quote it in writing. If the system checks out, we tell you that too.
Park homes along US 19
About 16.4% of homes in Holiday are mobile or manufactured homes (Census ACS 2020–2024). Their electrical systems are set up differently from a site-built house: the main disconnect usually sits on an outdoor pedestal or pole, a feeder runs to a panel inside the home, and the grounding and bonding rules are their own. We work on pedestals, feeders, panels and outlets in manufactured homes, and we follow the requirements that apply to them.
Hurricane prep for Holiday homes
Holiday takes in about 5.3 square miles of land (Census Gazetteer). With roughly 95% of homes on electric heat (Census B25040), a multi-day outage means no AC, no heat pump and often no hot water. A properly sized generator hookup covers the essentials. Look up your evacuation zone by address on the Pasco County Evac Finder before June 1. About 16% of homes are mobile or manufactured, and Florida’s Know Your Zone, Know Your Home guidance treats those homes as among the most likely to be evacuated in a storm, whatever the zone. Water and electrical gear don’t mix: if a storm wets your panel or meter, leave it off and call us. More in our flooded electrical guide.

Permanent eave lights in Holiday
A typical Holiday block ranch has a low hip or gable roof and a single garage, which makes for a simple, clean permanent lighting layout. The track runs under the soffit across the front and up and down the garage gable under the overhang, never on the shingles. The controller plugs into an existing garage outlet. If you’d like, we can make the front and back separate zones so the backyard lights can be off while the front is on.
Coastal installs: the track sits under the overhang, which protects it from much of the salt spray and rain. We check the existing garage outlet for corrosion and GFCI protection before connecting the controller.
Some neighbors call it permanent holiday lighting, others soffit lighting. It is one system for every season. Our JellyFish Lighting guide explains the system, permanent lighting compares the options, and JellyFish in Pasco County covers the county. Want to see it on your house first? From Seminole up to Holiday
More than one electric utility serves Pasco, and the boundaries don’t follow town names. Your bill tells you which one you have, and we coordinate with it. Holiday is a straight drive up US 19, but it’s still scheduled work for us: a site visit, a written quote, then a set install day with the permit.
Workmanship is covered for 2 years, or 5 years for Member Care Plan members, and JellyFish components carry a 5-year parts warranty. Financing is available through Acorn Finance, subject to credit approval.

Holiday homeowner questions
Is Holiday close enough for you to service? Yes. It’s the closest Pasco community to our Seminole shop. We handle planned projects here by appointment.
Our 1970s house has a fuse box or an FPE panel. What should we do? Replace it. Insurers commonly flag both, and a new panel with proper breakers is safer. We pull the permit and handle the inspection.
Can permanent lights go on a single-story block home? Yes. The track mounts under the eaves, so a single-story ranch is one of the quickest installs.
Do you check the outlet before plugging in the controller? Yes. We test the outlet and GFCI and replace corroded devices if needed.
Is the housing in Holiday old? The Census median is 1977, and roughly 64% of homes predate 1980, so original panels and ungrounded circuits turn up often.
I rent in Holiday. Can you still help? Yes. About 34% of homes here are renter-occupied (Census ACS). Tenants can call for urgent problems; upgrades need the owner’s approval.
Can you help with a mobile home in Holiday? Yes. About 16% of homes here are mobile or manufactured (Census ACS). We work on their panels and meter pedestals and check community rules first.
