Tierra Verde has no city hall. Pinellas County says its Board of County Commissioners serves as the island’s local government, and the county lists bridge replacements on 13th Street/Sands Point Drive and Madonna Boulevard among its projects here. Just south lies Fort De Soto, the county’s largest park at 1,136 acres across five keys. Tierra Verde is about 12 miles south of our Seminole Blvd shop.

Getting back on the island
After an evacuation, residents re-enter with a Barrier Island Reentry Permit, picked up at the Tierra Verde Fire Station on Sands Point Drive with a driver’s license and proof of residence (two per household). That’s worth doing before the season. So is deciding how your home will handle a long outage once you’re back.
What a standby system does
A standby generator lives outside on its own base, runs on natural gas or propane, and its transfer switch hands your circuits over to it when grid power drops. For homeowners who may be off the island when a storm passes, that hands-off operation is the main draw.
A lighter option is a hand-switched hookup that lets a portable machine feed chosen breakers. Either way, we size the equipment to the loads you choose and place it with flood exposure in mind.
Townhomes and condos
Only 41.8% of Tierra Verde’s 2,445 housing units are detached houses (ACS 2020–2024); the rest are townhomes and multi-unit buildings. If your home shares walls, association approval should come before any equipment plans.
