Apollo Beach is a young community, with a Census median year built of 2010 for its 12,819 units. It also sits right on the water. NWS Tampa Bay reported Helene pushing coastal Hillsborough water levels 5 to 8 feet above mean higher high water, and two weeks later a gauge in Apollo Beach logged 11.42 inches of Milton rain, per the Hurricane Center. Our shop at 6248 Seminole Blvd is about 23.9 miles away in a straight line.

Height and placement
On a canal or bayfront lot, where the generator sits matters as much as its size. We look at your flood zone and elevation, keep the unit and transfer equipment as high as practical, and plan fuel lines and clearances to code.
Choices
Standby: runs automatically, including when you’ve evacuated. Portable-ready: an inlet and interlock you can use when you’re home. For a newer house, the panel may already have the space either needs; we check.
Rules in unincorporated Hillsborough
The area falls under the county’s adopted Apollo Beach Community Plan and its permitting. If you’re rebuilding after flood damage, the county’s 50% substantial-damage guidelines include electrical costs. The county also posted updated 2026 evacuation zones; worth checking before the season.
Off the water, the county’s Apollo Beach Park & Recreation Center and skate park on Golf and Sea Boulevard anchor the neighborhood.
